Behind the Screams: My Favorite Halloween Traditions
Halloween has always held a special kind of magic for me—not just the costumes or candy, but the rituals that make October feel like stepping into another world.
Every year, I find myself leaning into the little traditions that make Halloween sparkle with both fun and fright. Carving pumpkins by candlelight, watching (or rewatching) classic horror films, and decorating the house with just enough spookiness to make the neighbors raise an eyebrow.
But for me, the best part is always the stories. Ghost tales told in hushed voices, the creak of an old floorboard that suddenly sounds suspicious, and the way a book can take me into a haunted house without me ever leaving the couch.
Halloween is storytelling season at its core. Every costume is a character, every shadow is a hint of mystery, every flicker of light is a reminder that even the darkest nights can glow with imagination.
This year, I’m leaning into both the fun and the eerie. A cup of something warm, a scary read by my side, and the knowledge that I’m joining countless others who find joy in the thrill of October nights.
