Two days later, in an obscure corner of the world, Gareth pulls his laptop closer to him where he is sitting in a luxurious coffee shop. He switches it on and then he opens The Death Factor video page. With a self-satisfied smile he notices the views of the channel have reached a staggering fourteen million views. It will be difficult for any newcomer to beat that number. The page refreshes and then the message—Error 404 The page you requested does not exist—appears on the screen. Disappointed Gareth realizes the owners of the website removed the page, just as he opened it and frustrated, he considers if he should have taken a screenshot while he still had the chance.

Gareth watches the news religiously whenever he gets the chance during the next two days and he knows Richard is in jail, and he will remain there for the rest of his mortal life. There is a massive manhunt under way for Gareth, but he knows they will never find him, not with his new identity.

He wonders amused if Richard knows he has accomplished his goal and he will be remembered forever as the most infamous internet sensation ever in the history of the internet.

Richard has attained life-long notorious status.

He did say he would even sell his soul.
